Using a Browser with a Pop Up Blocker Feature Turned On

Caution My MC sometimes uses small separate browser windows to deliver requested content. Some pop up blockers incorrectly interpret these small windows as pop-ups and block them. To resolve this issue, you can either temporarily turn off your pop-up blocker, or add the My MC site to your list of acceptable sites.

The most common pop up blockers and how to either disable them or add My MC as an accepted site, are listed below:

Norton Anti-Virus/Norton Internet Security
This is commonly distributed with new machines as an anti-virus package and can be identified by a small yellow icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

The Norton pop up blocker can be disabled by double clicking on the icon and deselecting the "ad blocking" option, or the advanced options can be used to add My MC to the list of approved sites.

The Google toolbar
This is a toolbar developed by Google and appears within Internet Explorer as an extra toolbar. It is easily identifiable by the Google logo on the left-hand side of the toolbar. If pop up blocking is turned on, you will see the text "# blocked" on the toolbar (where # is a number).

To turn it off completely, click on the Google logo and select Options. Next, deselect the checkbox for the Popup Blocker option. Alternatively, you can leave it turned on but still allow pop up windows only from My MC by clicking on the "# blocked" button before trying to log into the portal.

The Yahoo toolbar
This is an Internet Explorer toolbar developed by the makers of the Yahoo search engine and is sometimes known as "Yahoo Companion". It can be identified by a large red "Y" logo on the left hand side of the toolbar.

The Yahoo pop up blocker is configured by clicking on the small icon resembling a two-colored rectangle with a teardrop. As with Google, you can either select the option to turn off the pop up blocker, or choose the option to always allow pop ups from the My MC site.

Windows XP Service Pack 2
With the Service Pack 2 for the Windows XP operating system, one of the extra tools added was a pop up blocker which appears as an extra option within Internet Explorer.

The pop up blocker can be configured by clicking on the Tools menu and selecting "Pop up Blocker". When the pop up blocker is turned on and a pop up is blocked, details are displayed on a small information bar at the top of Internet Explorer. Options are given to temporarily allow pop ups and/or allow pop ups from the selected site.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
In IE 7 with the pop up blocker function turned on, go to the Tools menu and select "Pop up Blocker". Go to Pop-up Blocker Settings, and in the Address of website to allow area, enter and then click the Add button, and then click the Close button.

Others
If you are running any other pop up blocker other than the ones listed above, refer to that program's instructions for help.
